JOY SHOE BOX APPEAL FOR ROMANIA

JUBILEE OUTREACH YORKSHIRE CHRISTMAS SHOE BOX APPEAL FOR ROMANIA

Once again we are supporting this vital appeal to help poor families in Romania who struggle to buy food.  Please fill a shoe box with food items such as dried fruit, dried peas or beans, sugar, packet spaghetti, dried vegetable soup, tins of meat or fish and dried milk powder.  All food items should be in the manufacturer’s packs and have a use by date of at least April 2017.  You can also add soap which is double wrapped, colouring books and pens, tooth brushes and toothpaste along with new hats, gloves, scarves or socks.  If you wish to send a Christmas card you can use the greeting CRACIUN FERICIT which is Merry Christmas in Romanian.  The box can be gift wrapped with the top wrapped separately from the base and secured with a rubber band.  A food contents needs to be filled in and attached to the outside of the box and a donation of £2 for transportation costs would be much appreciated and can also be fastened to the contents list.  Sue Longbottom has a supply of the contents lists.  Please bring the boxes back to church by Sunday 13th November so they can be taken to the JOY warehouse in Shipley ready to be delivered to Romania in time for Christmas.

Alternatively you can donate money to help buy food in Romania and save transport costs.  Cheques should be made payable to JOY and given to Sue to pass on.

Thank you so much in advance for supporting this wonderful charity that works with some of the poorest people in Europe.
